+Last week, I recorded an episode of the [PHP Alive and Kicking podcast][0] with Chris and Mike from
+[PHP Architect][1], who mentioned they were going to attend the TechMids conference in Birmingham -
+so, I decided to go too.
+
+I'd missed the call for papers but I emailed and offered to be a backup speaker if they needed one,
+as I'd be attending and Im always happy to give presentations.
+
+Someone did drop out, so I offered to give my Nix for PHP Developers (and everyone else) talk.
+
+Although it mentions PHP, the concepts and examples are transferable to different programming
+languages, as well as server administration and homelabbing - making it a good presentation for
+TechMids, which is a full stack conference.
+
+There was a good attendance for my presentation, especially being a late addition to the schedule,
+and it was great to see other presentations and meet new people at the conference.
+
