Last week, I recorded an episode of the [PHP Alive and Kicking podcast][0] with Chris and Mike from
[PHP Architect][1], who mentioned they were going to attend the TechMids conference in Birmingham -
so, I decided to go too.
I'd missed the call for papers but I emailed and offered to be a backup speaker if they needed one,
as I'd be attending and Im always happy to give presentations.
Someone did drop out, so I offered to give my Nix for PHP Developers (and everyone else) talk.
Although it mentions PHP, the concepts and examples are transferable to different programming
languages, as well as server administration and homelabbing - making it a good presentation for
TechMids, which is a full stack conference.
There was a good attendance for my presentation, especially being a late addition to the schedule,
and it was great to see other presentations and meet new people at the conference.
My [slides are available][2], as are [my personal Nix configuration][3] and perpetually
published/unpublished [Nix for PHP Developers book][4].
